About the Hotel

Grand Hotel “OKA” is located in the picturesque place of Nizhny Novgorod – on the high bank of the Oka, near the central city park, Lobachevsky University of Nizhny Novgorod and Nagorny Sports Palace. The hotel was commissioned in 1975. The facade was beautifully decorated with glass tiles, the rooms are furnished with modern furniture products of Gorky factories, the walls of the restaurant was decorated with artistic painting and ceilings of  acoustical tiles – with “ruby chandelier”. For many years it all delighted residents and visitors of the city. Hotel was proud of the title of enterprise of high culture of service. However, many years in the life impact on the state of the hotel, so it is required a major overhaul.

Since 2001 a rebirth of the hotel began. The renovation of 4 residential floors was carried out. Several conference rooms were opened. An automated system of hotel management was implemented. As a result, in 2002 the hotel complex “Oka” was awarded with the “Russian National Olympus” in nomination “Outstanding enterprises of small and medium businesses”.
New stage of reconstruction began in February 2005. The façade was renovated. A new air conditioning system was designed and installed including filters for cleaning air in the lobby, meeting rooms and restaurant. The best designers were invited to work on interiors. According to experts, it was managed to embody the main artistic task of the project - to create the comfortable environment, where minimalism is well combined with the individual character of the space. All this led to the award of the certificate of category three stars.

Every year there are more than 40,000 visitors at the Grand Hotel “Oka”. Many large companies are choosing the hotel as a business partner for their corporate events, conferences and presentations: Project “Leader of the Year. Small & Medium Business” (continued cooperation since 2005), Festival “Living Word” (2006 - 2007), Contest “Brand of the Year” (2006), such companies of Nizhny Novgorod as “Volgatelecom”, “VimpelCom - Nizhny Novgorod”, ZAO “Mobicom Center”, “Irbis inform”, “Legal Information Agency”, and many others. Within the walls of the hotel lived such famous stars of the theater and show business as K. Khabensky, I. Kalnynsh, A. Volochkova, I. Wernick, I. Averbukh, V. Leontiev, K. Orbakajte, S. Peha, J. Friske, N. Babkina, such famous groups as “Samotsvety”, “Choir Turetskogo”, “Lube”, “Assorti” and many others.

Construction lasted from April 2008 and was completed ahead of schedule by six months. There are 139 rooms of higher category, Congress Center, submitted by the network of comfortable meeting rooms from 15 to 210 seats, fitness club with a 25-meter pool for 3 lanes, gym and halls for group programs. There are landscaped surrounding area and landscape design around the hotel. In September 2010 the building “Oka Premium” was certified for category 4 *.

To date the Grand Hotel “Oka” offers high quality service and a wide range of additional services. Comfortable cozy rooms, a network of conference halls for seminars, trainings, presentations, restaurant Oka, fitness club with swimming pool, entertainment complex “Capital club” with bowling and billiards, highly qualified staff - all this creates an attractive atmosphere for business meetings, leisure and tourism.
